September 11, 2001 is a day that changed America. Up until the morning of that day one year ago, the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 was referred to as "the day that would live in infamy." In what has been described as the most horrifying attacks ever against the United States, the terrorists crashed two airliners into the 110-story twin towers of the World Trade Center and another into the Pentagon. A fourth plane was diverted by passengers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. It is believed that plane was headed for the White House.
