National Day Of Prayer Observance

Thursday, May 2 - 12 Noon, Claiborne Parish Courthouse Square

At noon today, May 2, the citizens of Homer and the surrounding area are invited to gather on the Claiborne Parish Courthouse Square for a brief prayer meeting in observance of the 51st anniversary of the annual National Day of Prayer. The Homer Ministerial Alliance and the Trinity Bible Study and Prayer Group

have worked together in planning and promoting this service. Lloyd Ogilvie, Chaplain, U.S. Senate has written a Special Prayer for America. We are asked to join together in reading this prayer at noon today, so we come together, a huge wave of prayer will flow across our nation, expressing the unity of God’s people and acknowledging His sovereignty. Thus we will highlight this year’s theme, “America United Under God.” At 7 PM, a program of “Prayer and Praise” is planned at Trinity Southern Methodist Church sponsored by the Trinity Bible Study and Prayer Group. There will be special music featuring Prayer and Patriotism by quartets, duets, solos, group singing and prayer. An area will be reserved near the entry for cars to unload and load passengers.
