School Board Approves Roof Repairs On 2nd/3rd Grade Building

- The Junction City Dragons will travel to Hampton Friday, October 20. Game time is 7:30 PM.
- Junction City Junior High To Play Harmony Grove
- Junction City Juniors will play Harmony Grove there Thursday, October 26. Kickoff is 7:00 PM.
- Union County College And Career Night October 23
- Union County College and Career Night will be held Monday night, October 23 at South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado for interested juniors and seniors.
- Arkansas School Of Math And Science Here Monday
- A representative from the Arkansas School for Math and Science will meet with sophomores at Junction City High School at 11:30 AM on Monday, October 23.
- Arkansans For Drug Free Youth To Hold Rally
- Arkansans For Drug Free Youth will hold a rally at 9:30 AM on Monday, October 23 at the Union County Courthouse in El Dorado.
- Cabins Available For Rent On Lake Claiborne January 3
- Ten new vacation cabins will be available for overnight guests at Lake Claiborne State Park beginning Wednesday, January 3. The Office of State Parks will begin taking reservations for the cabins Monday, Oct. 9 at 1-877-CAMP-N-LA central reservation line (or 1-877-226-7652).

- Jim Decker with the University of the Ozarks will be at Junction City High School on Tuesday, October 24.
- 4th Annual Athens Country Festival Set For November 4

Athens will host their 4th Annual Country Festival on Saturday, November 4, with lots of arts, crafts, and collectibles--old and new. Food booths will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, bar-b-que, cotton candy,
etc. A $10 entry fee will enter you in the domino tournament. Plenty of fun for the whole family. For more information, call (318) 258-3123 during the day or (318) 258-3092 at night.
- Annual Christmas Festival In Homer Set For Saturday, December 9 - Chairman Buddy Pixley met August 23 with the several interested persons to begin making plans for this year's Christmas Festival planned for Saturday, December 9. The Committee discussed plans for the parade, entertainment, food booths, and possibly a Christmas Decoration contest. As done in the past, members discussed allowing various groups--marching bands, cheerleaders, dance lines, twirling groups, etc--to compete for trophies prior to the parade. The Festival will also include all-day entertainment and a variety of food booths.
