Junction City Advances In Playoffs

A battle of top ten teams will take place this Friday night when the Junction City Dragons travel to Charleston to battle the Tigers at Alumni Field. The Tigers made it to the second round of the playoffs with a convincing 49-6 victory over the Elkins Elks. |

- Junction City Dragons Play Charleston Therd Friday
- The Junction City Dragons will play the Charleston, Arkansas, located close to Fort Smith, this Friday, November 17, in the second round of the playoffs. Game time is 7:30 PM.
- Junction City Schools To Close For Thanksgiving
- All Junction City Schools will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week, November 22-24 for the Thanksgiving holidays.
- Annual Christmas Festival In Homer Set For Saturday, December 9 - Chairman Buddy Pixley met August 23 with the several interested persons to begin making plans for this year's Christmas Festival planned for Saturday, December 9. The Committee discussed plans for the parade, entertainment, food booths, and possibly a Christmas Decoration contest. As done in the past, members discussed allowing various groups--marching bands, cheerleaders, dance lines, twirling groups, etc--to compete for trophies prior to the parade. The Festival will also include all-day entertainment and a variety of food booths.

- 1999-2000 Junction City Yearbooks Are On Sale
- Junction City 1999-2000 yearbooks are on sale in the high school office for $28.25 each.
- Cabins Available For Rent On Lake Claiborne January 3
- Ten new vacation cabins will be available for overnight guests at Lake Claiborne State Park beginning Wednesday, January 3. The Office of State Parks will begin taking reservations for the cabins Monday, Oct. 9 at 1-877-CAMP-N-LA central reservation line (or 1-877-226-7652).
- The YWCA of El Dorado invites you to become a part of their "Moms and Mentors Program"
- The program matches caring volunteer women with teen women who are pregnant for the first time, or who are parenting their first child. Through a mentoring relationship, the message is offered that there is someone available, not to judge, but to support and encourage.
