Conditions Approaching Epidemic Proportions On Wildfires
By Susan T. Herring,
Editor, The Guardian-Journal
Homer Fire Chief Dennis Butcher said we are approaching epidemic proportions on wildfires in Claiborne Parish. Much of this is due to the hot, dry weather that is typical this time of year in Louisiana. The lack of rainfall has increased the amount of fuel, dry grass and brush, on the ground. This, along with the 10 to 20 mph winds, spells conditions for very high fire danger. |
